What is DBAA?
The Dumas Bobcats Alumni Association originated in 2019 as a program that would allow former Dumas Bobcat Alumni a pathway to give back to their alma mater, provide counsel and mentorship, and prepare our community for a better tomorrow. Initially created by seven graduates from the class of 1991, the association is open to all alumni that are associated with the Dumas Bobcats. Our main goal is to support individual dreams of higher education through academic and vocational scholarships.
The board of directors acknowledged a need in the community that would help develop college and vocational success and scholarship-ready youth. Through strategic planning, the organization berthed a non-profit program, which was driven by the need to fully meet the organization's mission and vision: Encourage and invest in area students to succeed in higher education. Every student has access to the tools necessary to pursue higher education.

The Dumas Bobcats Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization founded in 2019, is based upon the conviction that an educated society is essential to a healthy community. The Association provides access to post-secondary education to members of our community who, otherwise, may not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
The Dumas Bobcats Alumni Association sees higher education as a catalyst, an agent of change for individuals, families, communities, and nations. We envision a community that recognizes the importance of educational attainment and assures positive educational outcomes are accessible to all regardless of economic circumstance. In our community, doors will not be closed to those who lack financial resources, and post-secondary education will be available to all with the potential to succeed.
To build this community, The Association will:
• Promote and provide financial support for post secondary education;
• Assure that students have the information necessary to make sound decisions;
• Lead a collaborative network of community and educational partners aligned to support student preparation, transition, and persistence to degree completion.
